Principal's Welcome
With 18 years in education, Mrs. Lucie Ausburn is honored to serve as the Principal of West Jackson Middle School. Previously, she was an Assistant Principal at East Jackson High School for two years. She has also worked as a high school mathematics teacher, District Instructional Math Coach, and Assistant Principal.
Mrs. Ausburn began her career in Gwinnett County as a high school mathematics teacher and marching band color guard instructor. After 11 years in the classroom, she transitioned into the role of District Instructional Math Coach, providing professional learning and support to K-12 teachers across the county. As an Assistant Principal at Mountain View High School, she worked closely with teachers to implement engaging, literacy-focused instruction.
Mrs. Ausburn earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Georgia, a master’s degree from Georgia State University, and a Specialist degree in School Leadership from the University of North Georgia. She also holds Educational Leadership credentials from the University of Georgia.
She is married to Jeff Ausburn, also a UGA graduate, and they have two children: Ethan and Hadley. She is excited to be part of the West Jackson Middle School community and looks forward to supporting students, teachers, and families.
